International students studying in Canada no longer have a work limit, effective immediately, to help with labor shortages.

According to Canada's immigration minister have announced….

The international students studying in the country are now eligible to work longer hours off campus as the nation struggles with labor shortages.

As of Nov. 15, students who are enrolled in full-time studies and are eligible to work off campus will no longer be limited to working 20 hours per week.

He said the temporary measures will stay in effect until December 31, 2023.

"With this new change, we have removed the limit," Fraser told reporters near the University of Ottawa campus.

As well as provide a boost to businesses in sectors that are presently experiencing acute labor shortages, Fraser added.

The government is also introducing a new pilot project to assist streamline the processing of applications to extend study permits.
